A Stick to Ward
Off the Inevitable
In his most recent exhibition for The Chopping
Block, the artist Ben Branagan presented a reconfiguring of spent materials.
A coagulation of fragments, brought together in
a series of ad hoc arrangements and uncertain artefacts, developed in situ at the gallery.
‘From Sarmatia to Star’ served at once as an insight into the artists ongoing interest in the Hermetic foundations of Polish culture – where his family’s heritage lies – whilst at the same time also serving
as a playground for the artist to reveal his instinctual imaginings in the form of painting and sculpture.

Grrrl Zine Fair
The Chopping block was proud to present
'Dreaming On A Bus', an exhibition in collaboration with The Grrrl Zine Fair Library that looked to investigate a history of punk feminism. A curated selection of historical and contemporary alternative print all exclusively dedicated to the amplification of the female voice.
I dream of
In an exhibition exclusively showcasing Parris’ most recent paintings, ‘Hope I Dream of You Tonight’ acted as an insight into the artist’s ongoing endeavors to explore and interpret the varied conditions of human experience. Parris’ paintings are surreal unfoldings; playful, chaotic & subversive.
